Progressive metal artist Eric Francis is always trying something different. Experimenting with elements of many rock and metal subgenres, his discography is a sonic melting pot always open for expansion. Self-described as creating a sense of "musical whiplash," Eric's music is characterized by complicated rhythm guitar parts and "airy", ambient leads, using a contrast between light and heavy elements in his writing. Prior to releasing music as a solo artist, Eric collaborated with many bands local to his home in NY.
His new LP, "The Fifth Stage," (released October 8th) was created during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is his second album to be written, recorded, mixed, and mastered from home. Lyrically, the LP continues the story of Under a Fake Sky and Eric's experience living through the COVID-19 pandemic. "The Fifth Stage" is a mesh of progressive metal and djent sounds that blend together seamlessly.
Prior to "The Fifth Stage", Eric has released four solo albums (Dreamstate, A Perfect Moment, Full Circle, Under a Fake Sky), an acoustic album (A Closer Look), and two albums with the band Maybe Later (Visions, Turning Points).
